Hi there, I am Kiran – the face behind Ardent Education. I started working with young minds whilst studying for my degree in International History at the London School of Economics.

As part of a national drive, I was nominated to join a voluntary committee of student mentors promoting university admission amongst groups labelled as underprivileged and socially deprived. Growing up in a multi-cultural community, I was able to understand some of the challenges that many of those who I was fortunate enough to work with were facing. My role as student mentor proved to be an amazing experience that strengthened my resolve to make a difference. It inspired me to enter the teaching profession and allowed me to combine my passion for working with young people and History.

I embarked on my History PGCE at the UCL Institute of Education in 2006 and successfully completed my NQT year, gaining Qualified Teacher Status in 2008 whilst teaching Sociology and History at a large inner London school. Over the years, I have gained a wealth of experience teaching Key Stage 3, GCSE and A Level History, as well as GCSE and A Level Sociology in schools located in London, Winnersh and most recently, Essex. My experience has helped shape me into a dedicated and reflective child-centred practitioner who strives to inspire and empower young minds.

I have continued to develop my practice, both within traditional classroom settings across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5, and also by providing one-to-one private tuition for students in the comfort of their own home. Although I specialise in providing GCSE and A Level tuition in History and Sociology, I also have considerable experience in delivering 11+ tuition, and numeracy and literacy tuition for children aged five to eleven. I work with students with a full range of ability – from providing stretch and challenge, to helping students master concepts, and improve confidence levels and self-esteem.

My clients have successfully gained admission to a number of prestigious Russell Group universities including: Corpus Christi College, Oxford University; Trinity College, Oxford University and LSE. My younger clients have gained admission to: Putney High School; St. Catherine’s and The Mall.
